The “Empowering Women Politically” initiative is spearheaded by the Pioneer of Feed organization in Sudan. At the heart of this project lies a steadfast commitment to developing women’s political rights, positions, and leadership roles within the country.

Goals:

  1. Increasing Women’s Political Representation: The project aims to raise the number of women in elected offices and leadership positions across Sudan.
  2. Enhancing Political Rights and Participation: Ensuring women have equal political rights and actively participate in the political process at all levels.
  3. Developing Women’s Leadership Capabilities: Providing training, mentorship and opportunities to build the skills and confidence of female political leaders.
  4. Promoting Gender Equality in Governance: Advocating for policies and reforms that guarantee women’s equal voice and influence in political decision-making.
  5. Supporting Women Leaders Driving Change: Empowering and mentoring female leaders who are spearheading transformative initiatives within organizations.

The overarching goal is to drive an increase in women’s representation, rights, and influence within Sudan’s political sphere. By investing in capacity-building, advocacy, and specialized sectoral programs, the project seeks to create meaningful and lasting change – empowering women to play a more prominent role in shaping the future of their communities.

Key Programs:

  1. “The Free Pen” Media Program:
    – Offers journalism training, networking and career development for aspiring female media professionals.
    – Supports women in taking on influential roles in print, broadcast and digital media.
    – Amplifies women’s perspectives and narratives in the public discourse.
  2. Women in Law Initiative:
    – Mentors and trains women in the legal field to become leaders in their communities.
    – Provides pro-bono legal services and advocates for women’s legal rights.
    – Builds a network of influential female lawyers, judges and legal experts.
  3. Political Candidate Support:
    – Recruits, trains and supports women to run for elected office at local and national levels.
    – Provides campaign strategy, fundraising and media support to female candidates.
    – Works to break down societal and institutional barriers facing women in politics.
  4. “Taa Al-Taneeth” Program for Women Leaders:
    – Identifies and supports influential women driving change within organizations.
    – Offers specialized leadership training, mentorship and networking opportunities.
    – Amplifies the roles and impact of women spearheading transformative initiatives.
