Women Peace and Security Project

The “Women, Peace and Security” project is an ambitious initiative that aims to empower women and strengthen their effective participation in peacebuilding processes, with the goal of enhancing their role as ambassadors of peace within their communities.

Through this project, training and advisory programs are being implemented to develop women’s leadership capabilities and their ability to advocate for peace and community reconciliation issues. They are also being empowered to acquire the necessary skills to play an active role in promoting communication, mutual understanding among different segments of society, and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.

The key objectives of the “Women, Peace and Security” project were:

  1. Train women as “peace envoys”:
    – Objective: To train 10.OOO.000+ women in Sudan as “peace envoys” and equip them with the skills to promote peace and reconciliation in their communities.
  1. Empower women specialists in peacebuilding:
    – Objective: To provide training for specialists in psychology and sociology to enhance women’s role and capabilities in peacebuilding efforts.
  1. Engage women interested in peace:
    – Objective: To empower and engage women the sudan who are interested in peace issues and support their participation in peace-related activities.
  1. Expand the project’s geographical reach:
    – Objective: To expand the project’s activities from the Red Sea State to the states of Kassala and Al-Qadarif, in order to scale the impact and reach more communities.

Overarching goals:

– Strengthen women’s roles as ambassadors of peace
– Empower women specialists and interested individuals to contribute to peacebuilding
– Promote women’s leadership and advocacy for peace and reconciliation
– Support gender equality and women’s empowerment in the context of peace and security

The “Women, Peace and Security” project had the following activities:

  1. Trained 500 women in shelters as “peace envoys”.
  2. Provided training for specialists in the fields of psychology and sociology to enhance women’s role in peacebuilding.
  3. Engaged women interested in peace issues in the Red Sea State.
  4. Expanded the project’s activities to the states of Kassala and Al-Qadarif after the Red Sea State.

The project focused on strengthening women’s roles as ambassadors of peace, empowering specialists and women interested in peace, while expanding geographically to reach other states in Sudan.

Through this project, training and advisory programs were implemented to develop women’s leadership capabilities and their ability to advocate for peace and community reconciliation issues. The aim was to equip them with the necessary skills to play an active role in promoting communication, mutual understanding among different segments of society, and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.

Additionally, the project aimed to shed light on women’s contributions in the field of peace and security, and strengthen their capacity to influence and achieve positive change in their communities, as part of the efforts to support gender equality and women’s empowerment.
